- Glyn Duffield Review added: 2018.11.22★ ★ ★ ★ ★OK, an MOT is an MOT but why not be choosey who does it for you? Just had mine done at the Council MOT station Locksbrook Road. I rate it very highly because; its easy to get to, staff are friendly, complimentary tea/coffee, no up-selling of additional services, fast and efficient, they do it while you wait at the appointed time, ( so in and out in 1 hr. They offer a free reminder service for next year (DVLA charge $1.50 for this service), a loyalty discount for next year, and of course the profits that would have lined the garage owners pockets are put back into Council services reducing my Council Tax bill. And more importantly for me, they have no incentive to fail the car to get extra work as has been my experience in the past with MOT stations linked to garage services. Why go elsewhere?
